About Me

Visions of horses running wild, or dreams of riding bareback and bridleless, were something I never really thought about before meeting my wife, Ashley. I was a recent art graduate of Penn State University, who was busy designing magazines, websites, and videos and occasionally doing trail rides with family and friends. Ashley worked at a local horse farm where she leased a horse from one of the boarders. She always dreamt of owning a horse, but it wasn’t until April 2003 where her dreams would come true and when my passion for horses would begin.

The minute I touched our first horse, Jiffy, I knew my life was going to change. I had an overwhelming passion to learn all I could about him, and to develop as a horseman.  Little did I know that he would eventually lead me to where I am today. As we struggled to make sense of Jiffy’s anxieties, we were overwhelmed and dissatisfied with advice everyone was giving us. What were we thinking? Isn’t there a better way to do this? After a lot of discussion, we made the hard decision to sell Jiffy and find a horse that was easier for Ashley to handle, and one whom I could continue to learn with. Script, who is now my number one amigo, also helped guide me to find a better way. Unlike Jiffy, Script was confident, stubborn, and very dominant. So, the search continued to find a better way to be with horses.
