Fred " The Viking" Lucero teamed up with Wolf Quarter Horses to breed what we feel to be top quality performance horses. If you have ever met Fred, you have definitely heard of his Cee Booger Red horses. Cee Booger Red has created proven winners in calf roping, heading and heeling. Along with Cee Booger Red lines, we also incorporate Hancock, Leo, and King lines to name a few. Fred Lucero has spent his entire life in the rodeo world as a calf roper and team roper. To this day, he competes and wins at all the team ropings he can get to. He also provides the roping steers to most of the western United States. Wolf Quarter Horses and Wolf Land and Cattle is owned and operated by Mike Wolf and his daughter Megan. They have a cow calf operation in Southern New Mexico, and also run yearling cattle in Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. Together, we call ourselves Staple Quarter Horses.

We put a lot of time and effort into every foal born here, and take a lot of pride in what comes from our operation. As yearlings, our horses have the awesome opportunity of going to the Parelli Natural Horsemanship Center in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Here, they are played with daily by Pat Parelli's students. When we get them back we can pick up their feet, load them, groom them and even jump on them bareback. This lays the foundation for a gentle and confident horse.

As 2 year olds, our horses are broke and given a job. We use them on the ranches for 1 to 2 years doing everyday ranch work. We feel this gives them the start they need to be successful in the arena, and ensures our horses are truly broke. And finally as our horses are around 4 years old, they are started in the arena. They tend to pick it up well and when they are ready, we start hauling them.
